Step 1
Determine whether mediation is right for you and then call (508) 221-6677 to schedule a free consultation with the mediator. You can also click here to send us a message.
Step 2
If you decided to go forward and prior to your first appointment, fill out the mediation questionnaire and court form financial statements and send to mediator in advance:
Step 3
Schedule your first appointment. In this meeting the mediator will go over all of the important issues in your case so that by the end of the session you know what you need to work on for next time.
Step 4
Work on your action steps (provided by the mediator after appointments), and schedule additional appointments as needed.
Step 5
Once you both agree on all the major issues, the mediator will draft the separation agreement and email it to you for your review.
Step 6
Have your lawyer review the final agreement on your behalf and suggest changes that you can present at the next mediation session. Note that this is optional but strongly recommended.
Step 7
Prepare final revised court form financial statements. Sign the final agreement, court filings and your final financial statement.
Step 8
The mediator will file your case in court and request a final court hearing. Note that the mediator does not appear with you at the final hearing but will prepare you for what to expect at the hearing.
Step 9
Attend the final divorce hearing.
Step 10
Review the Judgment NiSi which will be sent to you 30 days after your court hearing. Your divorce becomes final and absolute 90 days after your Nisi judgment date.
Step 11
Review your separation agreement after the hearing and comply with its terms.
